About RedNote (Xiaohongshu) Emojis

RedNote, also known as Xiaohongshu (小红书), has its own image-based expressions alongside standard keyboard emoji. This collection brings together reaction faces, hearts and themed sets such as camping, cycling and shopping.

Copy the original bracketed code, including the Chinese label and suffix, or download the image. English names on this page help you find an expression; they are not replacement codes.

An expression’s tone depends on the conversation. A smile can convey warmth, politeness or irony, so read the surrounding words before assuming what someone means.

How to use Rednote emoji codes

  1. Find an expression by its name, code or category.
  2. Copy the full code, including its brackets and any R suffix.
  3. Paste it in Rednote. If the app does not recognize it, use its built-in emoji picker instead.

These expressions are platform-specific images. Their codes may remain plain text outside Rednote, and availability can vary by app version. This site is not affiliated with Rednote.

Frequently asked questions

What do RedNote emojis mean?

They express reactions such as laughter, affection, embarrassment or frustration. Meanings are not fixed translations: the accompanying text, relationship and conversation can change the tone. Use the image and its original label as clues rather than treating every expression literally.

Why can a smiling emoji on RedNote seem passive-aggressive?

Some users use a restrained smile to signal irony, displeasure or strained politeness. It can still be friendly in other conversations. A smile alone is not enough to tell whether someone is upset; check the surrounding message.
